Degree Requirements:

  • The goals of the program are to take two (2) graduate-level courses as electives during undergraduate studies, plus three (3) courses (or nine credit hours) of upper-division CS (ex. 3221, 3313, 3411, 3462).
  • The student must have completed a bachelor’s degree program with a minimum 3.4 GPA overall and a minimum 3.3 GPA in computer science coursework.
  • Students in the fifth, sixth, or seventh semester of their undergraduate program can apply for the MS in Cybersecurity in Computer Science program online.

Admission Requirements for Master’s Programs For George Washington University

To be considered for any Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) programs at the School of Engineering & Applied Science, students will have to meet the admissions requirements.

Last Date of Application:

  • The deadline to apply for the Fall semester is January 15.
  • The application deadline for entry into the Spring semester is September 1.
  • Summer semester applications must be submitted by March 1 to be considered. ( domestic students)

Mandatory Documents:

  • Fill up the Online Application form.
  • Letter of Recommendation- To submit your online application, you must raise a minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation.

Each recommender must provide their full name and email address on the online application form. An automated email will be sent to them with a link to submit their letter online.

  • Resume- The online application form should be used in conjunction with a current résumé (CV) in .pdf or .docx format. Include a hyperlink in your resume if you have published articles in peer-reviewed publications.
  • Statement of Purpose- Please upload a statement of purpose that explains why you want to study at George Washington University, your academic objectives, research interests, career goals, and other credentials, including your collegiate, professional and community activities.
  • Applicants must write their own statement of purpose. If an applicant’s essay is found to have been plagiarized, copied, or written by a third party, the application’s review will be immediately terminated.
  • Application fee-There is an application fee of $80. Online payment is required upon completing the application form using a credit card (all types of cards are accepted).
  • Please note that you can no longer change your application once you have submitted it and paid the application fee.
  • International Students who seek to apply for a master’s degree course in Cybersecurity need to clear TOEFL and IELTS.
